About ReversePhoneNow
Our Mission
The goal of ReversePhoneNow is simple: give people honest, accurate, free information about phone numbers. We believe that understanding basic technical facts about a number — which carrier issued it, whether it is a mobile or VoIP line, whether it is currently active — should not require a paid subscription. That is why our core lookup tool is free, requires no account, and does not log your search queries.
What We Provide
ReversePhoneNow provides three categories of content and tools. First, our free lookup tool returns carrier, line type, and active status for any phone number worldwide using a licensed telecom API. Second, our comparison guides evaluate the major reverse phone lookup services — Whitepages, AnyWho, SpyDialer, Spokeo, Intelius, TruthFinder, Truecaller, and others — honestly and without editorial bias. Third, our educational guides explain how reverse phone lookup works, what the legal limits are, and how to protect yourself from phone scams.
What We Do Not Claim to Provide
We are explicit about what our free tool cannot do: it does not return the subscriber's name or home address for a private mobile phone number. This is a legal constraint, not a technical one. The FCC prohibits wireless carriers from sharing subscriber data through open APIs, and we comply with this restriction. Any site claiming to provide free, accurate subscriber names for private mobile numbers is either using illegally obtained data or misleading its users. We do neither.
Editorial Independence
Our comparison guides and educational content are produced independently. We do have affiliate relationships with some of the paid services we review — meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up through our links — but this does not influence our editorial assessments. We give positive assessments only to services we believe provide genuine value, and we note limitations and pricing concerns clearly. Our disclosure policy is published in full on our Disclosure page.
Our Data Practices
ReversePhoneNow does not collect or store the phone numbers you look up. Lookup queries are processed through our carrier API provider and results are returned to your browser without being logged against your identity or IP address. We use anonymous page-view analytics (no individual tracking) to understand which content is useful. Our full privacy policy explains every data practice in detail.
Coverage and Accuracy
Our carrier lookup tool covers phone numbers in over 200 countries and is updated in real time. Carrier data is highly accurate because it comes directly from telecom routing databases — the same databases that mobile operators use to route calls. Our educational content is reviewed for accuracy before publication and updated when regulatory or market changes affect the information. We cite our sources and link to primary government and regulatory sources wherever relevant.
